Each strip is hand cut from 7oz Italian vegetable-tanned leather. This beautiful bowl features smooth grain Buttero in camel color, interwoven with abstract dyed strips, created using black leather dye. The dye is applied with quick brush strokes and absorbed by the leather fibers. A sealant has been applied to protect the surface.
The Woven Bowl is sewn by hand using waxed thread and saddle-stitching. All the edges are burnished and sealed. The flesh side is smooth-finished with tokonole.
Use as a centerpiece or catch-all, the Woven Bowl measures 11” across by 3” deep.
Expect this masterpiece to darken slightly over time, turning more golden tan with exposure to the sun.
