Featuring a unique white waxed vegetable-tanned leather by Virgilio tannery in Natural that has a soft touch and amazing leather smell. A small blue tannery stamp is visible on the inside.
This artist-designed original has been sewn by hand using saddle-stitching and waxed thread. All the bag’s edges are burnished by hand.
The Sweet Pleat Tote features a large inside phone pocket, a solid brass button stud closure and a fixed length strap with a generous 10” drop. Watch the bag’s shape change when the handles are drawn in together at the top.
This roomy tote measures 12” wide by 10” high by 4” deep. The inside bottom panel and the strap inside have been buffed by hand.
Expect this gorgeous bag to develop an amazing patina as the white wax will buff off with use, and the Natural color will deepen to a lovely golden tan.
Most of all, expect this finely crafted tote to last a lifetime of use.
**To speed up the patina process, the white wax can be buffed with a boars hair brush. The wax buffs to a fine powder and will possibly create non-staining, chalk-like marks on darker clothing. The inside of the strap has been buffed to remove the wax coating.
